Owners of cars who want to renew their COE can choose from a 5- or 10-year renewal option. An owner is now in a position to consider how many years the vehicle will be driven, and how much it is worth based on its current performance and condition.

For those who are unwilling to commit to another full 10-year COE cycle, a 5-year COE renewal is recommended. You will only need to pay 50% of the PQP for a 5-year COE Renewal.

Renewing a COE for five years has the disadvantage that you only get to do it once. After the 5-year renewal period is up, you will not be able to renew your vehicle's COE again, and you will need to deregister it, except for Commercial Vehicles which can be renewed for 5 more years, maximum.

The one-time fee varies depending on the loan package you choose.
